Campaign against soy production for animal feed

There is still no legal framework to hold companies accountable for injustices along their global supply chains. Human rights abuses, child labour and environmental destruction are accepted for the production of profitable goods.

The supply chain of soybeans for the European animal feed industry is only one example: Soybean meal, over 80% of which ends up in animal feed in Europe, is largely produced in Brazil at the expense of virgin forest destruction and displacement of indigenous communities.

We advised an environmental organization on the development of a campaign to put pressure on a German supermarket chain. The company was asked to finally show responsibility and exclude human rights violations and forest destruction from its supply chain of meat products.
